Terms of service
The service
BulkSMSAPI provides a REST API and a web console for sending SMS messages to the countries on the price list, with delivery statuses, webhooks and a prepaid balance. These terms apply to every account, API key and message.
Your account
An account is opened with an account key made in your browser. The key is the only way to sign in; keep it safe, because we store only a keyed hash and cannot show it again.
You can create API keys for your systems after the first top-up is credited. You are responsible for every request made with your keys, so keep them on your servers and revoke a key as soon as it may have been exposed.
Up to 3 accounts can be opened from one network address.
Balance and prices
The service is prepaid. Top-ups start at $40 and are added to the balance in US dollars. Each accepted request takes its cost from the balance at the price per segment shown for the country of each number at that moment.
Prices are listed on the pricing page and through GET /v1/pricing. When prices change, the new list is dated; messages already accepted keep the price they were charged at.
Failed messages and canceled scheduled batches return their price to the balance. The balance is used for messages and has no expiry date; see the refund policy for details.
Sending rules
You send only messages that the recipients have agreed to receive or that they expect from you, such as codes, alerts and updates about their own orders or accounts, and you follow the laws of the countries you send to.
Marketing messages carry a way to opt out, and you stop sending to people who opt out. The acceptable use policy lists content that cannot be sent.
We may pause sending from an account that breaks these rules, to protect recipients and the routes everyone uses, and we tell you through the console.
API use
The API allows 600 requests per minute per key and 10,000 recipients per request. Version 1 endpoints keep their fields and meanings; new fields may be added to answers.
Availability
We run the service with care and publish live checks on the status page. Delivery depends on mobile networks and handsets, so a delivery report is the final word on each message, and failed messages are refunded.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and important changes are listed in the changelog. Questions go through the Support page of the console.
